– The Daily Encouragement

(Jan. 19th)

"Suffering and undergoing hardships for the sake of friends and for spreading the Law shows the sense of responsibility of a genuine leader and is the behavior of a bodhisattva.

There is no suffering or hardship that a Bodhisattva of the Earth cannot surmount.

So no matter what happens, I would like you to steadily advance one step at a time, always chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo with a vibrant voice."

Dr. Daisaku Ikeda

(…Me? Inasmuch as my current behavior may be light-years from what some have achieved (in terms of being a true Bodhisattva) at least the persistent thought of what it could eventually require makes me enjoy the introspection of assiduous meditation… which is the only reason why I chose to put the ‘title’ somewhere where others could see it – as ultimately Propagation appears to be an arduous, yet requisite portion of the whole endeavor…)

In other words, this being #MLK Weekend, one may argue that the first few sentences may fit/apply to his life – would they ever remotely apply to mine?
